I'm contemplating getting an Iphone but want to know if the 3.5mm jack underneath is the same as what is found on a normal Ipod? I want to upload music to it and use it in the car rather than using the Ipod all the time.

If by 3.5mm you mean a normal headphone jack size, then yeah it is but its on the top on the iPhone.

Apart from that the hands free won't work, it doesn't play the phone call through any type of speakers (via the 3.5mm jack).
