got a 1.4 sport and the gearbox went on it iv changed the gear box but now iv put it all bak togther it wont start up for shit its making a horrible wining noise and ideas or advice would be great!!!!

i havent touched the starter motor at all cos so dont no how it can be tht

What have you actually done mate...just removed the box and thats it? touched any earth leads or battery.could be that you knocked the lead going from the coilpack to the engine.

took the gearbox off removed battery and thing u u need to get to it but iv put it all bak togther the way i found it so it would run but its not

how can you remove gearbox without moving starter motor? try cleaning the earths and making sure there are no lose connections of any lose wires on the starter motor

you can take the gearbox off still leaveing the starter on.

have you connected the battery the wrong way? stupid question but i did once on my dr350 motorbike, had the engine casing off puzzled why it wasnt spinning the engine over, then realised what id done
