Hello All,

Myself and my partner are due to be wed on the 1st April and aren't going on the honeymoon until later in the month, so am looking for a few nights away in Edinburgh.

I would like something nice, pretty central and not overly expensive. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

This place is top notch. Not in the centre but I'd stay here every time in the future.

The Dakota isn't that far away from the centre really. And close to the Forth Railway Bridge Not expensive either!

WHET!!!

The Dakota is no where near the centre! Its a good 3 miles at least from Ferry road, which is a good couple of miles from the centre!

'd only stay there for work reasons, not for a weekend IN edinburgh

I wouldn't consider a 15 minute drive to be far tbh.

I would if i was in Edinburgh for the weekend. For city breaks I tend to prefer to be walking distance ..... getting taxis, never mind extra taxi costs (£20 one way)... going back to the hotel to change for the evening etc... its just not as practicle.

There is an IBIS on Blair Street, Apex (i think) down at the GrassMarket, Holiday Inn Express at Picardy place by the Omni centre.

If you fancy beig posh the Carlton, Balmoral, George Hotel, Crown Plaza, Rultand.

Other than that there are heaps of the usual Travel Inns, Travel Lodges in the city centre.

As Ak Said bud those are the best hotels in the center. You could also try

Le Monde
Tiger Lilly
Ricks Bar have hotel rooms

I'd recommend the Hudson Hotel at the West end. Think it's £80 a night just now. Good nightclub underneath called Bacaro now too!

Apex on the Grassmarket is a good shout.

A friend stayed at the Fraser Suites and said it was spot on.

The Raddison Blu is a great hotel, right on the Royal Mile. Also right behind the train station and Princess St for all your shopping

York Place is right in the centre.... near Omni Centre (Bars, Restaraunts, Cinema), Theatre, Princess St etc. About a 10min walk from Royal Mile (castle)
