Yep people would end up losing their season tickets and if these other guys took over theres no guarantee they'd get another season ticket. Difficult one really

I boycotted Luton matches. Along with several hundred others. And at our level it made a difference.

Only way to make it matter is if everyone, or at least a huge proportion, do it.
Its been discussed numerous times on the Liverpool forums, and people have stopped going matches and buying offy merchandise, but its a drop in the ocean as we have a massive waiting list for tickets and they just get snapped up within minutes of them being dropped.

Ah right I get ya. Not as such, but it did make the old owners take note and start to listen. It was done to stop money going into their pockets. As they were all on the take.

It works lower down but it wont work at somewhere like Man Yoo as there are too many fans who dont really have an interest in how the club is run so long as its winning things so any boycott would be canceled out by these types of fans.
The only way these types of fans will stop going is when its too late, shit hits the fan and the club announce its going to have to sell all its best players to stay afloat.

I would aye.
Although at somewhere like United I dont think it will make that much of a difference. Will always be someone from Ireland/London/Japan willing to take the tickets.
In fact, if they sold the season ticket seats individually to day trippers they will make a lot more money so the owners would probably prefer folk not to re-new.

I know that is probably bait but it is happening although not to the extent to not make them successful. Until that happens these "fans" will still flood in.
I attend games for my club because i love it and i want my money to be going towards making the club more successful. If i knew my money was going into corrupt hands that didnt have the best interests of the club in mind, I'd definitely boycott as we did in the Cr*ig era.
End of the day, fans do control the club, without them there is no club.

It was part bait part not.
Ive said already that the main reason they sold Ronaldo was not footballing. Without selling him the loss they would of made last year would of been astronomical. So they will have to do similar this summer as well (Vidic will be one, I expect a few of the better fringe players will be sold for decent amounts too).

Cant go on forever though can it? The price the received for Ronaldo isn't something you can bank on every year and you can only keep selling top players so long until you become uncompetitive. As far as im aware (and i will admit here i know little about Man Utd's finances) if they failed to make the CL one year it would be a financial disaster as on of the things their debts are secured against is continuous qualification for it? Probably wrong but it surely wouldn't be good if they missed out.

We did have the agreement for Silva, but he wouldnt come as we wouldnt bypass the 50% tax by paying him through a Spanish company.

Personally I'd never do it, because upto now Corinthians owners have been very kind to it's fans, in the event of a cup replay or anything like that, they let kids in for free etc... or things like a replayed fixture away is half price.
In Brazil the ticket prices and merchandise is probably 2/3 of the cost it would be in the UK anyway.

They bid for him last summer.
The club wont sell him as it'll end up with their murder if they did so. Plus I doubt Torres would want to go there, if he was to be sold I expect Italy or Spain would be his only destination.
