looking to get rid of the vxr for a diesel so i can save some money for a house and for my wedding and all that shit, wanting to spend about 6k to spend on a decent sized diesel with decent spec, leather etc, currently looking at these types of cars
Audi A4
Volvo S60 D5
VW Bora Highline
any idea's what else for that kind of money?
vectra's seem to be lacking in toys and luxuries for that kind of money and passats i am just not into

Personally wouldn't go S60, not the best cars at high miles and will be expensive to fix. Can't go wrong with a Veccy tbh, may not have the toys but will be newer and lower mileage. If you're cutting costs, Audi, VW, Volve may be a bad idea in case anything goes wrong.
Does it have to be a biggish sized car?

Swop for my boxed 1.9 CDTi Black XP, about the same speed as a standard VXR and 50mpg
Although in all seriousness, they are great cars.

forgot to mention that i already had a black cdti astra before the vxr, wanting something a bit bigger and i would like to avoid black really
been looking at vectra's after typing that out and yeah, i could spend a little less on a vectra and get some stuff for it to make it a bit better
costs of fixing it arent really a problem, its the running costs of the astra every month, theres always money put away for emergency repairs

i only had the 120, so when boxed it made about 170 and was fairly quick, cant compare it to the vxr though
the vxr is a great can and i really dont want to get rid but needs must

Mondeo ST TDCI (155).
If you want to save a couple of extra grand and can live without a few toys, get a Mondeo Zetec-S TDCi.
I've Just paid £4k for mine, apart from the wheels and rear bumper you'd be hard-pushed to think it was a different car.
Love the look of them.. (mine below)

you can easily tell the difference between the mondeo zs and st tdci's.
they are both lovely cars though.
that audi a4 1.9 tdi 130, a mate in work has one of those. very nice looking car and very good on motorways.
he has had loads of fast cars before (cosworths, impreza's etc etc) and he's very anal when it comes to quality and rates it very highly.

here is my st, albeit petrol but looks wise its exactly the same as the tdci, the tdci is awesome car for the money and can make some good figures with simple decat and remap.

I was going to suggest this but you'd be hard pushed to find one with sub 100k milage for 6k, it definately has the best and most powerful diesel engine out of every car suggested in this thread though. For 6k you would get a nice 150 bhp 320d sport which can be mapped to 175-185bhp.
