Move over Haiti...
'Haiti I'mma gonna let you finish, but Chile just had the best quake of all time! ALL TIME!'
Seriously though, what are people gonna do for Chile? - people have already donated to Haiti, can they be arsed to donate again, will there be 'another tribute song', will John Travolta load up his plane again and go deliver supplies?
...

Only 100 or so dead, plus a more developed country than Haiti, so doubt anything will be done on that scale.

so far...
true that, the buildings probably did withstand it better, but the death toll will be far higher than 100, you seen some of the pics?
8.8 though too - like 100x more than haiti

There was only a reported 80 people killed in the first reports out of Haiti. Escalates massively.

Yeah it will certainly rise, but it wont get anywhere near the 100k+ in Haiti.
Its a fairly well developed country in most areas, and has plenty of hospitals, etc. And as you said the buildings were built out of proper materials and not mud
They'll get plenty of aid, but they dont really the big backing that Haiti did.
