Looking to keep it below £500 budget really
Anything to look out for and avoid? Last time I bought a tv the new in thing was wide screen 
Been looking at this one which seems to have good reviews

Oh ive got a LG 42" a great TV no problems and really good picture. think it might of been the LH2000 aswell got the green eco settings etc on it, Link below 32" samsung £270

thats not 1080p I dont think though
Planning on going blue ray and getting a 360 so 1080p seems to be the way to go I think

I dont think so personally. Samsungs / LGs etc are all in the mid-range of performance vs price, not until you get to Sony / Panasonic / Pioneer etc that you start seeing leaps in terms of quality but obviously you do pay through the nose for this stuff.
Me personally, my LG 32" 720p TV is now 3 years old (only cost £400 back then) and even my dad was impressed at the quality of freeview, and he has Sky HD on a decent 42" Panasonic set up

Saw what I think is a good deal in tesco's of all places today.
LG full 180p LCD 42" tv for £449 as its got £150 off
Just checking as although it looks a nice size in the shop I have a feeling it will be over kill for the lounge.
Shame as its the same price as the 32" one.
Sales bloke was trying to sell me one of the new LED ones. looks lovely but I dont think I can justify the money

I have a 32" 1080p Sony Bravia (KDL32W5500) in my bedroom for PS3 games and Blu-ray films. It's a great TV. Wasn't the cheapest option when I bought it but I've never been disappointed by it on any SD/HD viewing.
