Well, gotta say since the SE rolling road day, the vrs has been neglected. So today we took it down to AmD in essex for a full service, brake fluid change, air con service and a Pipercross panel filter. Which changed into a full remap too. Impulse buying eh Those who were there at the rolling road day may remember it produced a stupidly powerful first run, well we have found out today that there was some big boosting issues that were causing flat spots and mad spikes so now after several runs and some minor tampering with the remap, we have a nice healthy 220bhp and 320 lb/ft torque Boy does it shift now, once rolling, it just goes like stink and it is incredibly smooth. Cannot believe i was gonna sell it. Overall, very happy and great service from the guys at AmD.

Good cars, TDi was a very smart move by VAG IMO. Such a competent thing considering the bulk of it.

Miss it a bit compared to my new Mazda, the vRS felt a lot more chuckable than the Mazda does so far, though thats likely because I didn't care for the Skoda much after all the problems I had with it quite early on, and the Mazda is still under 1m old...

We could have got more but went for a nice conservative map to save the clutch and the DPF. Need to save save save for a nice full miltek system next.

They don't soot too bad, not like a Furby.

The DPF does work some of the time - mine only used to smoke after being left running on idel for a fair while, or crawling through slow city traffic - once the taps were opened it'd chuff a feckload out for a few seconds then clear and not do it again.

Was just saying as I know someone with a Fabia vRS and the thing sooted something cronic, didn't look healthy at all and was pretty dangerous tbh. Must have been a bad map.

Plus the extra drivability and maybe more MPG mate, a lot can be said for mapping normal cars.

Furbs often smoke when mapped, i've seen well mapped ones that dump a shitload of smoke on hard boost, it's just a 'natural' thing for Diesels really.

Furb's have the 1.9 not the 2.0, so a lot different!

This ibiza is one of the smokiest diesels around!

Never seen any soot coming out the back of mine.

The old 1.9 TDI and even the 140 TDI are bad for it though.
