Hi all, as some already know I recently bought speedlines. They have 195/45/16 goodyear eagle F! tyres, which have a "rim protector" in the tyre to stop you kerbing them etc.

Anyway. My cav slabs have 195/45/15 tyres on. I have TA technix coilovers, and the camber had to be set right out to stop the slabs touching the coilover, there was about 2mm between the tyre and the coilover.

My speedlines, however, are touching it badly, and I've had to raise the car to stop the wheels touching the arches on full lock etc.

Just wondering, has anyone ever ran the coilovers without the small helper spring on there?

Or, any remedies please? Especially Fruitbooter, his was mega low some how, although I notice he had 40 profile tyres on?

All tyres are nearly new so I don't really wanna go down the route of buying 40s!

Oooh. Does this not mess with the offset and cause problems that way though mate? So 5mm spacers, then set the camber negativs slightly to get it under the arch?

wouldn't the 5mm spacer mean the tyres caught the arches if ran really low?

would make the wheels et 42 wouldn't it?

Nah 5mm spacers will be fine mate, my tracking needed doing but never got round to it, car drives fine just means you get a lot of tyre ware.

Mine already eats tyres for fun though, had proxes on my slabs for around 6 months and the inside edge is nearly down to the cotton!

Really considering taking the helper spring out, Would be above the tyre then.?

Just been abd bought some 3mm spacers, it's fine now, only problem now is that the rear is sat miles lower than the front Gonna have to raise the rear, which I didn't really want to do. I'll get a pic up when I've washed it.

I looked at that mate, cheers. But BAT motorsport aren't found on Google etc, and I dunno a thing about spring poundages etc. But if someone could point me in the right direction for some short soft helpers that would be great

Kev, how low is yours at the front? You run 45s or 40s?

Mine still rubs abit at that height! I'm not happy with it. Why is it that my car has to be gay so 16s dont fit?! lol

Erm I'm not sure how low the rear is tbh mate, but I would say about 90mm ish? They're the coilover springs, but I chopped some off haha.

asif. Are you on coilovers or springs and shocks? They look to sit more into the arches than mine.
