As above whats the max price you would pay for a private plate?

Seen one for mine but is £833 all in not sure if its worth spending that but is the only one that i can find thats decent.

Depends on the plate, and how rich I was.

I'd spend probably up to £1000, maybe a bit more on a private plate. Depends on how cool it was and if if came on a car or was a named plate.

I think I'd spend about £650 max on one. I only say that because that's how much the one I want for my Corsa costs

Mine was £400, and then mutliple times of £105's for changing vehicle

Is it how much would I spend.......who knows its easy to get carried away. COL1N was about £100k last time it sold, even if I was wedged I wouldnt!!

a private plate would be the final stage of a project for me, not very important in my eyes.

but then i'd spend £1000+ on wheels and think that's ok lol.

Fuck all, I like tht my car says its a p reg, and that all old cars dont have to be covered in rust you could spend that on so much stuff on your car

to a certain extent i agree, but a decent set of wheels which are treated with kid gloves will be easy enough to sell, and they're much more generic than a 'personal' plate so appeal to a wider market.

there's a e46 325 touring round my way with the number plate 'G51', pretty nice, but pretty pointless too.

that said, i will buy a dateless plate for my golf when it's 'finished'

mine was £250 from dvla may spend upto £500 if i could afford it

it is not the plate that costs though

i have had at least 5 fines for my number plates and then 3 car changes aswell.

fines were completely my own fault mind

The number plate I want got sold with my papa's jeep and the closest I can find to it is about 24k

No wheels are gonna match that.

tbh buying a plate will last you all your life if you dont buy a mega old car you can always keep the plate?

i seen one R055 WED (Ross wedderburn) so i though that was good but cant justifiey 1800 quidlys

I quite fancy AK 43... its up for sale just now with offers of around £6500 + invited.

dont have the money just now though

AK 47 would be great.

My bro has LSK 604 which is worth a fair bit now... think it was bought for about £400 15-18years ago.

I dont really like 'dated' plates ( i know they all are but I mean thing like H3 GTR)

The Plate on the GTR is worth about £600 but i'd never pay that much for it as i think its pish. G19 GTR.

Fee has one too, M66 FEE. S'ok for a budhet plate I suppose

White Audi R8 V10 that zooms round here has the plate V10. Hate to think how much that cost

as i said, i agree with you... although plates are very subjective by their nature, plus i think the right time to buy has passed, they're way overpriced for something 'good' with 3 letters, 3 numbers

the best option would be to buy old cars for their plates, that i can understand. (bit of a shame to break a classic for it's plate though lol)

plates where you need to move the letters around to mean something are SO uncool in my opinion.

I think i'd buy one relevant to the car instead of faintly trying to spell my name if I got another.

For example if I got a V8 M3 next I would love the plate V8 BMW, it is available but its £6,235, I wouldnt pay that unless I got to the stage in life where £6k meant to me what 60 pound does now

CO11NJS is released in December. Im not sure how better/worse it is than C8LNJ tbh I dont really like having my name(ish) on my car, makes it too easy a target! I just hate leaving my car parked outside pubs etc in town just incase some scrote see's it & decides they dont like me!!

i was looking at G24EME a while back that was up for just over £2k and was really tempted.

My current one which is C4 WLK i orginally bout for £249 when i was 15 which is 8 years ago now. i was offered about £1200 for it from a guy with a Carerra 4 with the surname Wilkinson but i didnt sell because wouldnt buy me what i wanted.

I have spent a fortune though transfering it from vehicle to vehicle at £80 each time plus if i retained it another £25.

Today though i put it on a car first time in 2 years.
