i know of someone that entered the iron man near bolton and failed..hard.

the swim was a double figure milage swim in a resivoir and he was training for it by swimming in the local pool doing fucking lengths

My mate does them as well and has just ade the GB squad. Does alot of training, and is wierd seeing him now @ 11st compared to 14st when he used to swim for GB.

my ex boss does them all over the world; he's nothing to look at but my fucking god is he fit. Used to train by swimming down the canal on which he lived - he lived on a canal boat so that he could train more often; jumped in before breakfast 7 days a week
