Im curious as to how many people actually worry about fuel consumption?
My current 3 series does around 27mpg, the wife’s TT does around 22mpg and im thinking of selling my car and buying something which does 15mpg, which is approximately the difference between our two cars now.

Ive never really thought about the fuel consumption and never really worried about it, but im not sure if Id regret buying something which does 15 to the bloody gallon.
I do around 9k miles a year so it’s not a massive amount.

Thoughts/opinions?
Does anyone else drive particularly thirsty cars?

I don't worry but I work it out. 25mpg is the best I've had out the 1.4 sport so far

I do sometimes, not as much as I used to however. I think as you grow older and your bank balance gets bigger, its a really mediocre and rediculous thing to worry about. When your young and on weekend job money, its crucial.

I get 500 miles to 35 litres if i'm driving to work and back, Weekends I tend to see about 300 miles to 35 litres.

Doesnt really bother me as I still enjoy the car.

I think most people have the same opinion as me then.

Im considering buying a BMW X5, someone I know who has a 3.0D version has told me to only look at the diesel due to fuel consumption.
The 3.0D will get best part of 30mpg while the 4.4 petrol will get 15.

Thats a massive difference and im starting to bottle it, although I do want the petrol version

Yes.

I even moan when I fill up my bike once a week.

When I got it it cost me £17. Now its costing me £22 to fill it up.

Pricing is slowly reaching £1.20 again (ave is £1.13-1.15 round here), and no-one seems bothered, yet last time it came to these prices the boycot of the pumps started.

Yes fuel prices p1ss me RIGHT off.

25mpg from 1.4.. either you guys are thrashing them or you have problems. Our astra VXR returns 27mpg!!!!! 1.6 16v Corsas are stated at 35mpg.

I want a 3.0 TDi engine next. Power and torque and economy.

Yeah I have noticed prices going up ever so slightly, although can still get petrol and diesel for around 111.9 in one of the many garages i pass daily. Closest one to me however is 116.9 for both.

Yeah I guess I do seen as though I've never had a car that does less than 40MPG. Would piss me off spending all my spare cash on fuel TBH.
