Ive just found Jades old mini for sale in a used car lot (we traded to main dealer) & they have still got her private plate on it -

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201011354767158/sort/priceasc/usedcars/body-type/convertible/model/one/make/mini/radius/100/page/1/postcode/fk39ar?logcode=p

We paid for a cherished transfer that they said they would take care of.

Should the fact its advertised for sale & has the private plate in the pic's be a cause for concern or am I just flapping for no reason??

phone the dealer and ask whats happening with the plate.

If it isnt sorted out yet the dealer cant put another plate on (they could have blanked it though I suppose)

It was meant to be done on Tuesday.

Also waiting on £60 they owe us for something else thats not been paid.

You know I wouldnt be surprised if the idiot salesman has just signed over the car as it was.

I certainly would never have bought a car off him!! I could tell he was a fudd as soon as I drove in the car park!!

thats what i would be worried about. if you havent got anything that states you own that plate and have it on transfer etc, perhaps you have lost it.

I always get them to do it before i collect the car to save this problem, then changing plates and telling the insurance.

Colin's offshore atm so I can't phone him to find out more about this

I filled in the docs at the dealership and paid them £105 to sort the transfer out. I thought my plates would be on the car when I went to pick it up a week ago but they weren't. I was told transfers were taking a bit longer than usual atm. I'll phone the garage thats selling it tomorrow and ask if the plate is included in the sale to see what they say

If you've sold the car then the plate isn't yours any more.

So many people losing plates this way - don't sell the car with it on!

call the dealer you sold the car to, not the new owners!
