Just thought that after I posted tomtom.
Either the bank or O2 would need to fuck up for my bill not to be paid.

Did it over the automated payment thing usually only takes 10 mins tops from what ive been told. At 8 tonight it will of been 24 hours which to take a payment and lift the ban is daft imo

Bank statements can show you where your money goes. Why phone companies let people take out contracts without a direct debit is beyond me.

You cannot blame them for doing what is technically right, They honestly don't know that you forgot to pay them.
I'm sure you could remember a direct debit if its set up for 02, unless you make a habit of delaying their payment

You'd think with straight up payment it'd be re-activated straight away.. can see where you're coming from.
This is why I'm on Pay&Go.

That's ridiculous? Your money is still going to go to O2? It will go out at the same time every month and you won't run the risk of forgetting and getting cut off?

nah, they have to run it through an activation style process again and it wont be on their top priority list as he forget to pay them. Would be funny if he called and they said they forgot to re-activate the sim for him because they were busy

That's bollocks. It all done by an automated system which if O2 wanted could have the process completed within seconds. My thoughts are that they don't do this as the longer your phone is off, the less inclusive minutes you will use - also freeing up some other resources on their network. Another reason is that they will have your funds in there account longer making them more intrest.

Sorry oh wise one... Again, just another thing I was told (by the O2 advisor when my phone was cut off after a cock-up over a direct debit change)

Maybe that is how they resolve the issue of late payments but it can be processed quicker if they had updated systems in place.
