Really not a fan of the Blackberry, I just don't find them friendly in the slightest and would always choose an iPhone over them.
I would pop into an 02 shop though as they have fully functional phones out on display. Have a look and feel of each model available to you and work out which you prefer. They all do the same things at the end of the day.

Who's telling you to get a BB? Go into a phone shop, and have a look at the ones that take your pick. Don't always go by what people tell ya.

One serious note about the blackberry is the track balls (roller balls) if they have one... We have to send quite a few back in work because the balls just stop working. Not sure if this is due they the phones being weak or if its because of dirt but just be careful of it.

And off the back of that, the iPhones battery life is shocking but still the best advice is to visit a store with working demo's of all the latest phones. You're the one that will have to put up with your purchase.

9700 is the best with both 3G and WiFi.
