got a set of alloys in the shed that ive had for ages,love them but there worth nothing and to be honest probly wont ever come out/or on my car,but fancy spraying them black.what will i need,the not curbed pf scuffed so im guessing i can just sand them down,spray and job done???

if so what should i use to sand them down,etc??

Iv done a fair sets before and i used various grits of wet n dry used dry then if theres no chunks misin then use your primer (i used 1 full tin per alloy. Rub down between each coat then start sprayin your paint (imo try use vauxhall sapphire pearl) gives a nice sparkle in sunlight. (2 tins p/w) then sand down between coats. Then usd a couple of tins of clear lacquer. Hope this helps mate

so some dry grit,primer,paint of choice and lacquer and im all good??

And take your time, don't rush it

I just did a set for my mate and although the actual lips were fucked and need a proper refurb the centre bits come up ok, use loads of laquer too

If they are not kurbed, then give a rub over with a scotch pad, panel wipe/de grease, and paint. No need for flatting down each layer. Few dusty coats, then lay one on thick, leave to dry, then laquer the same way.



They were badly kurbed, all that got was sand down, scotch, primer, flat primer, paint and laquer.
