After watching many police programs the offender will probably be let off with a slapped wrist. They just don't take these things proper.
IMO the guy should be locked up, no license = no insurance and attempted assalt/murder for trying to run the lads over.

I can't see how a ban is going to be effective when "he's" driving around with no insurance as it is.

No such thing as attempted assault. Its an assult if you get hit ot not.
If it was a real attempt to run them over, it would be attempt murder, if it was just meant to scare then Dangerous driving for mounting kerb etc.
Obviulsy if he has no licence or insurance he will be charged with this.
Dangerous Driving - 10 points and fine
No licence - Further ban and fine
No insurance - 6 points and £200 fine
The court will take the offenders past into consideration so all of the above plus naybe suspended sentance of community service if hes a good boy.....worse if he has a past.
That assuming the case can be proven in a court of law

Banned drivers get stricter treatment that drivers with no licence. The police have more powers for dealing with banned drivers (arrest on the spot etc...) so if they are banned they are easier to deal with in the future when they drive again.
