My water pump is being a **** and not coming out Ive undone the bolts obviously and hit it a couple of times but still wont budge.
Anyone got and tips or advice??
Its a 1.6 16v corsa btw.

You have to hit it mate. Give it a bloody great whack with a hammer a few times and it'll come lose.

Yeah, use a hard hammer not a soft faced mallet, i had to really whack mine out, loads!

Do u rekon I should take the engine off its mount to lower it abit so i can get at it through the arch?

Get a long piece of wood, put it on the pump then hit it. Get a better swing then.

god, you still havn't got it off? Try what dean suggested. Sounds easier than just hitting it randomly with a hammer tbh, probably less likely to crack/damage anything doing it that way too
[edit] - saying that though dean, we had to just keep hitting mine because the end of the pump had snapped off

Yeah the end of my pump had snapped off too, you should have a shit guard behind the drivers side wheel which you can take off to get better access to the lower part of the engine but it would be far to much hassle taking the engine off its mount just to do a water pump, its silly!

I havnt attempted it yet tbh haha! Ive tried putting a crowbar on it and gave it a hammering but still wasnt doing anything.. I spent a good 2 hours on it on sunday and did nothing but scratch it :S
Next step is heat and if theres no joy with that its coming out in peices! lol

seriously, just hit it from the side with a hammer and it will come lose, lol. Just give it a big whack.
