The famous Ferrari from Ferris Bueller's Day Off is up for grabs. Fans of the iconic 1980s comedy will have a chance to own a slice of movie iconography, when one of three replica Ferraris used in the film will be auctioned off by Bonhams at the RAF Museum, in Hendon, on 19 April.

The fibreglass-bodied copies (for want of a better word) of the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Spyder California were used for all the driving shots in the film, although the close-ups and interiors were done using a genuine 250 GT.

the replica has no doubt been bashed about a bit, at least it hasn't crashed backwards through a plate-glass garage and plunged down a hillside - the car that did that in the film was just a shell.

Bonham's reckons that you'll be able to get your hands on the car for around £55,000 - a snip when you consider DJ and Ferrari nut Chris Evans paid more than £5m for one of the original 100 250 GT Spyder Californias back in 2008.

The question isn't "what are we going to do," the question is "what aren't we going to do?"

Guy throws a sicky and borrows his mate's dad's Ferrari for the day.

Mid-80s teen cliché stuff but it's worth a watch.
