I got made redundant on Wednesday and had a crappy escort van which had to go back, so I go out and buy a new car as the new job I start on Tuesday doesnt come with a company car until 6 months into the job.

So I bought one of these

sorry they are crappy photos.

69000 miles
fsh
years mot
no tax but thats no biggy.
Totally standard and a very tidy example excepy a couple of little scuffs on the front and back bumper.
Just need to give it a bastard good clean.

Its just so nice driving a comfy, lazy powered, quite car with loads of toys; rather than a shitty go slow escort van or a noisy, bumpy rev happy corsa.

Saloons are so much better looking than the hatches and I prefer the phase 2's to the earlier ones.

And the V6 power and noise is just so nice.

I paid £2000 for it, which I don't think is too bad considering.

Keep an eye on your steering banjo bolts chaps. They have a tendancy to work fractionally loose over time and then you have a nice little leak.

If you ever end up losing power steering fluid and it's not immediately obvious where from, check this first.

It's quite a fiddle to get at and would be much easier on a ramp and with a nice long extension with a wobbly end/adapter, but the banjos only need tightening so you don't have to worry about actually getting the swines out and changing the ally washers.

Good looking car btw.

Gave it a really good clean over the last 2 days which it needed.
Clayed, srp and wax. It came up fantastic.
Only a couple of marks, a big scuff on back bumper which can be painted really easy and a scuff on front bumper. Both I knew about when buying it. Other than that, a few stone chips and a couple of scratches there are no car park dents or any other mark.

Tbh I think I got a bit of a bargain.

I just cant wait until saturday when I drive down to the French Alps in it, should be a really nice drive.

Very tidy. Scrubbed up well

Sorry to hear about the redundancy too, but sounds like you've already sorted another job
