Hi,
Curiosity has now got the better of me and i have now give up on trying to figure out waht the "Secondary air injection pump does.

does any body know what its for, and why. it seems to blow air into sum fasionable device that comes off the exhaust manifold to me but i just dont understand it.

can any1 put my mind at rest??

It reduces emissions basically

does it do anything to the performance figures or is it there just to make it more of an eco warrior?

eco warrior basicaly mate, all it does is pump air into the exhaust manifold to heat the cat up quickly for the emission laws in some countrys, i do blanking kits if your interested in removing the whole system.. Wont give you any power gains but takes away about 2kg and a large mass from the engine bay.
