just bought a 1.0 12v w reg, star silver, standard, mint... i had a 14 sport but was wonderin if 12vs r even that bad? iam not really after speed anyway, just want a tidy car, anyone got a 12v?

plans are 15 inch 5 spoke mk4 astra alloys (the 1s that kinda look like speedlines)
drop her 60mm
decat, racetube and 3 inch back box
and then the normal crap, slatted grill, clear repeaters ect ect

tbh mate i had a 1.4 sport and you will notice a huge difference with the 12v

it is very slow, its not too bad when you have no passengers in the back, but as soon as even 1 person is in the back its horifically slow

Faster than a 1.2 8v so i've heard.

But as ollie said fast or not its better than walking.

Iv not had it a run yet, iam busy painting bits on it, 14 sports r slow enuff, iam thinkin the 1.0 will b dead

They are very slow but bombproof little engines which do silly MPG. It will feel a lot slower than your 1.4 sport but if you're not wanting speed they are perfect

I never tried to find the top speed to be honest mate. It sounded like it was going to blow up anything above 75

ive got a little star silver, 1.0 with dark grey wheels. ive done 20k miles, mostly motorway since june last year and its still going strong. they are very slow and they take ages to build up speed. its getting up to 60-70mph that takes all the petrol and from there on it runs off fresh air. i wouldnt bother tuning it performance wise and its almost guaranteed to fail on emissions come MOT time anyway.
