This car is on my list of posibilities to buy, thing is at 90 bhp they are not exactly the quickest things, the stats say they are 0-60 in 11 secs.
What i wanna know is i know you can map them to 110bhp, how does this effect the 0-60 and top end so i could get a rough idea of improvement

IIRC its the same engine thats in mine, in which case it'll be very easy to map quite high.
110 would give a 0-60 in low 9's IMO, however I reckon you could push it a bit more than that.

i heard their are 125 bhp remaps but that could be over exadurating by the tuner doing the work.

I own one pal and they feel a hell of a lot quicker than 11secs to 60 lol.
RStuning in leeds are the folk to use for a remap on these.
I have had a good look at the options and a remap from them will give much higher bhp 120-130bhp, torque goes upto 200lbft. The MPG rises as well which is a big plus.
There is a lad of ZSOC with a mapped one and he can stick on the ass of his mates modded VTS.

11 seconds 0-60 is quite a bit slower than your other choices, all standard.
All mapped it's still quite a bit slower.

It's actual 0-62 is a little slower.
Ford stopped quoting to 62mph with the mk6 fiesta.

yep it is a slower option from the cars i like , but has other stuff going for it though, like handling, cheapo tax, good fuel eco, cheap insurance. I would only think of getting one if i was to get it mapped though, not standard.
Think im gonna have to go round a few dealers looking at all the cars, as i may sit in some and just not like them at all, hopefully get a few test drives.
I think im really looking for a car that can do 0-60 in about 8 secs as that seems to be the standard for alot of sport hatches, well for the cheaper market anyway.
wether a 1.6 tdci can be mapped to get near that i dont know?

Personally I wouldn't worry too much about the actual 0-60 in a diesel. Off the line it'll never be as fast as an equivalent petrol.
Its the mid-range overtaking that should bother you. Trouble is that you won't find out what its like without driving a mapped one tbh.

yeah they have bundles of torque so easily sit with standard fiesta st's. 130bhp and less weight also.
the engines themselves have no problems afaik, all built to last ages being diesel.
i had a petrol zetec s mk6 fiesta and nothing went wrong in the year i owned it, was a nice relaible motor.

I had nothing go wrong with mine for the year I owned it either, trackdays and weekend death aswell. Brilliant little cars. Mine was petrol though so can't comment on the power.
