Want to about them a bit more, First thought will be a set of KW v2's and corsa VXR seats. Not sure about tuning potensial though. Think they are 125bhp as standard

Stav's like spending money on his cars. Just start off with a better base in the first place. Corsa VXR FTW. N.A = Gay.

The 1.7 CDTi is quite a rare one to find second hand as well.

cheapest diesel srion autotrader is £9k, but then they all seem to be well over £10k
vxr's start at £9.5k and you wont have to spend a grand on the seats...
you know it makes sense

i wanted to get a corsa d sri 1.7 CDTi, but when ever i found one for sale, it was never local and bit over priced, thats why i got an astra h sri xp 1.7 CDTi and saved myself some time and money.

You'll regret it when a Corsa VXR pulls up next to you and smashes you.

<---- doesnt bother me when gsi's / vxr's go bang and poppin past that.
But on a good note, got an email back from Arno @ EDS
He has mapped one to 175 bhp and 300 of torque with just a panel filter not bad for a 1200kg car

I own a 1.7 sri C and ok in standard form its not as quick as say the 1.8 but mid range it has alot of power. I dont regret getting it either as they hold their value well and are very cheap to maintain.
Ok deff cant argue that it doesnt have that soundtrack but who cares when in normal everyday round town driving your getting 40-50 to the gallon and £120 a year to tax

what about real bhp figures?
as they also say they get 24bhp out of the 1.8vvt, yet max you see is 15bhp...
i dont see how they make these amazing figures

I looked on the Vaux site a few weeks ago, there's not enough price difference to warrant getting a 1.7 SRi over a VXR and making the SRi look VXR-ish tbh.
But if you want/need a diesel for the mpg's I say why not.

I reckon you're talking pish. At certain revs from certain speeds to certain speeds in certain gears yada yada then aye. But it won't brake as well, handle as good, and isn't as pretty. All in all, it would be a more economical car, that's it.
