Got to make some decisions, I think the steering rack is buggered on the corrado after hitting a massive pothole a few weeks back
A recon rack is about £600 iirc then its a pig to fit and also the amount of stuff i "may as well do at the same" time is long, engine is on 186,000miles now, bodywork has rust in places from the winter.
not sure whether to keep going with it, or buy something else now, had the rado over 3yrs, done 55,000miles in it, but still love it.
part of me think i should wait for another corrado to come up for sale, maybe lower mileage or maybe one already built to a good spec like a VR6 turbo etc?
or what else should i consider, the corrado is always really involved to work on and the parts are getting stupid money now, saw a door handle go for £75 recently, VW are making parts obselete all the time, headlights for example, they are £150 each new, a foglight £90, and last time i checked they didn't even have 10 left

Doubt you will get something as unique as the Corrado.
147 GTA would be fairly rare but its almost guaranteed to cost you big time. I love them

I had a go in Stealth racing's VR6 turbo demo car the other day. I was actually really surprised by it, nice and easy to drive at low speeds and the power built up really linearly, no sudden surge of boost. It was running around 360bhp at the time and it was down on power from the usual 450bhp for some reason.
I'd say stick with a Corrado

yes, Vince has been on the forum talking about that turbo kit they have developed. Am sure its over £4k though
am looking around for other rados now, i think if i can pick one up for £3-4k then swap over all my decent bits and sell the rest as parts i could probably change for free

The kit is a lot of money, but % BHP increase per pound is actually pretty bloody good! 176bhp to 450bhp for less than 5k sounds pretty good to me!

@dhdev, they are 192bhp standard in the corrado (i always have to correct that)
@steve, well i get a weird multiple knock/thud in quick sucession when i turn usually a lot of turn and low speeds, thought it might be top mounts (already done them twice) but noise seems to be from rack area, plus its about the only thing i haven't replaced
am starting to steer towards keeping with it and fixing it

i did try that and didn't make the noise, its only certain times, like pulling into a junction and driving over some camber in the road
