Will Newcastle fans be treating the title as a proper piece of silverware? I know there was always a running thing about how they hadn't won a major trophy in 50 odd years but is the Championship trophy seen as a major title or is it a bit tinpot for them? Serious question btw.

which ever way you look at it, mock it as not being any silverwear or whatever. its still an achievment to bounce right back. a club like that could have suffered major like leeds, charlton, southampton and many other top flight clubs that have struggled financially afte relegation.

luckily, ashley has kept the club afloat and paid th wages to keep a good whack of the team.

They won it about 10 years ago, and as far as I'm aware its never counted! Nor has the Intertoto plaque

im not saying it counts marc. im just saying that its good that perhaps its the most stable the club has been in years, and thats whats got them back up right away.

To be fair thats quite an achievement for a non league team having gone through the preliminary rounds.

You weren't in League 2 in 2003 were you?

That was in reply to Jonny, I know the fans don't think it counts. But as you say its a good morale boost for the team and the fans.

I just made up the date Marc tbh, but even if we were in the league we still wouldn't have got to round 2.

Made round 3 this year and took the lead at MIGHTY STOKE

no joke, if we finish in the bottom half for the next few years but avoid relegation battle, thats more than adequate to build upon. 10-15th for a few seasons isnt a dreamers target.

Newcastle will be reet now. The relegation will have been good for them. Everyone has had a dose of reality and are now pulling in the same direction. FWIW I see you back in europe in about 6 years time, if the current stability continues
