cat-back exhaust
can someone explain

for e.g.what is it?, what are the pro's and con's?
so on so forth
sorry if this is a stupid questiopn but ive never quite understood them

well its the part of the exhaust that runs from you cat to the back box and will consist of a middle section and depending on which brand you get you will see some power gains and come in mild steel or stainless steel.(stainless being the better one as it lasts alot longer)

An exhaust from the cat (catalytic convertor) back (back towards the rear).
Pro's, slightly more power/ less weight.
Cons, cost per performance increase.

so a cat back is basicly a exhaust that runs from the cat to the backbox?

Exhaust =
Engine head > Manifold> Downpipe > cat > center silencer > backbox

A cat back system is the center silence and the backbox in a package :-)

No as straight through will be from fanny fold to rear of car with no cat.

well not really as it will come with a centre section. its basicly the same as the standard exhaust but the middle silencer and back box are less restrictive and obviously look different.

it will just sound sporty which makes people think there is a gain. In reality you gain a louder exhaust.
