Hey guys, as you all probably know, there is some padding type stuff which I assume is for noise reduction on the underside of our bonnets.... it seems to me that this is just keeping the engine unnecessarily hot, would you guys advise removing it? Or have you already done so? Thanks.

Just throw it away, it's not going to do any harm if you do.

the only thing it really affects is if the car isnt well looked after then it seems to fade colours like red but as most people on here look after them it wouldnt be a problem

I think it's more to do with the heat? that'll reduce the heat to the bonnet so the paint doesn't fade or go all wavey?

only risk is clearance with the battery. if it were to touch both terminals it could short out and melt

Unless the battery was fitted by a complete retard, the bonnet should be NOWHERE near touching either of the terminals, let alone both. With or without the Insulation/Deadening material.

Massively unlikely!
By removing the Insulation, you actually increase the gap that will already be present.

I think you had other things to worry about after Rolling one...

Wouldnt short out anyway as the bonnet is painted on the inside thus insulating it from the bater terminals
