Had the Clio nearly 6months now and loving it. However the one small niggle, which nearly put me off buying it is the exhaust.

Its a Janspeed one with larger pipes. It looks great but is a tad noisy for me. It booms to much on overrun in 2nd which i get aot on my drive to work, it resonates throughout the car and i swear is causing rattles with the vibrations..

I fancy swopping it ot a standard one, but the only thing is buying one is difficult as the original Renault (Read French) quality is poor and exhausts rust quickly. They are pretty darn cheap second hand £40 for e.g.

But i think they look a tad "weedy" ??

Heres a pic of mine with the Janspeed:

Heres a standard Clio...

Pipes look a bit shinier as theres more of it on show, rather than just a "hole"

So, go back to standard and loose the boyracery drone or keep the larger pipes??

Mate has had a Ktec one, sounded like a wet fart he replaced it with a blueflame which sounded too boyracery... he now has a BTB which has a proven 8-12bhp increase. Nice and quiet during low revs and sounds like a monster when foot goes down!

They're not cheap.

Mate picked his up for around £6-800. Proven gains though, it's not just for looks & sounds.

The janspeed tips look so much better than the puny standard ones.
Perhaps you could get a bigger mid section installed?

Jambo dont touch a blueflame they are droney just ask Corsa Nut on here his old one drove him nuts!

My miltek was awful with a decat and its a lot better with the cat in now however like yours its not perfect.

I would maybe talk to a reputable firm like JP or Hayward and scott and ask for a different centre section maybe?

BTB are great but Captain Hook will tear you a new asshole for one

Jambo, in all honesty mate the tailpipes suit the car perfectly, your cheapest and best option IMO is to source a larger centre section and i'll fit it for you, it'd be a waste to dump what you have on there for a shonky, badly made french system which you will have to replace sooner or later. Just my opinion mate but you know where i am.
