Bored of my gloss black Casero's and looking to get them done in arthancrite (or however you spell it).
Now, not sure wether to get them powdder-coated or painted?
Whats the difference? advantages/ disadvantages?

about the same price really.
just takes longer compared to spraying as they need the wheels, whereas spraying can be done via a mobile alloy wheels repair guy.

powder coat is far better it will last alot longer than paint these are my cesaro powder coated anthrisite

right will look at getting them powder-coated then! any one got any idea of nice dark shades of arthancrite?

Powder coating is much better . Mine on my 306 cost £140 to get done

painted imo much nicer, also easier to repair if needed.

i don't think powder coat is as great as people make out

Get it powder coated mate.. Painted is pants. Its chips easier and marks easier if you end up getting a rough tyre fitter in the future. There is no disadvantage to powder coating.

Find a place to get it done and ask them about what shades of dark grey they have. They should have colour charts so you can pick one out.
I'm getting mine painted but that's because I want the awesome metallic flake If it was a solid colour like you're going for then definitely powdercoat.

the place i got mine done had a little room with powder coated wheels, rocker cover etc in all different colours so you can see what they look like

We have every fabrication powder coated on the boats, aluminium or stainless; the finsih is much smoother (in general) than paint, you don't get orange peel effect and its a hard, durable finish - plus its dirt cheap.

i had my wheels painted
lasted 2 weeks before they were chipped, powdercoating has lasted 6 years

they are completely smooth, and glossy, trust me, as good as any paint finish iv seen

i think thats a bit of an internet rumour, iv never seen anyones wheels suffer as a result of powdercoating, they are baked circa 400 degrees, apparently they can take 900 degrees + before being damaged
