i got offered a 2001 astra today, 58k miles and is spotless, however its shot a rod through the block.

so im looking for a x16xe engine or a short block for it. anyone know what kind of money these go for? will phone round some scrappies tomorrow but just wanted to know the going price for these, cheers

cheers mate, thought it would be about that.

are x16xe heads worth anything? if i get a complete engine for it then is it worth while to sell the the head from the one with the fudged bottom end or are they no really worth much?

probably cheaper were in vectras aswell. have different looking inlet to what a corsa engine does.

possibly also in zafiras so its maybe a more common engine than the corsa one.

never knew they came in vectras, will have a look on ebay at them, cheers nic. yeah i see from the pics the inlets are different.

103k, engine was stripped because it was burning oil.
