Thinking about buying a mountain bike of some sort to Ride to work on a couple days a week. Dont want to go too mad but can anyone recommend one thats good and wont break the bank? I havent had a push bike since i was about 12

I'm in the same boat, but I'm going to spend about £500 I think. As it'll get used alot. Plus my old bike lasted me 10+ years.
