How does this work? Is it allowed? How would you put them on your payroll? Or are paperboys, washer uppers just cash in hand jobs?
All i've found on Google is for under 16's...
*If you are under 16, you are not entitled to the National Minimum Wage.
* before 7am or after 7pm
* for more than two hours on a school day or Sunday
* for more than 12 hours a week during term time
* in the holidays for more than 25 hours a week - 35 hours if aged 15 or over
Just wondering how it works tbh

child labour FTW
I'm pretty sure its all cash in hand ... but as you have said I think its only ment to be a couple of hours here and there. otherwise they would have to start paying tax and that would land you in a pile of smelly stuff.
What is it you need to employ children for?

I got a mate of my girlfriend at the time who was 14 years old a job working in pot wash at the place I worked at 16.
They were always asking for her NI number
She worked there for a year or more.

i worked for sainsburys at 15 but they only employ you in september of the year you were 15, so i was 16 in a month from that date. Then i worked as much as i wanted tax free
Best working days of my life.

It's a 15 year old lad. He delivers leaflets for me on Saturdays, he writes down each house he's been to and marks it off on Google maps. I give him £30 per sat, and maybe more if he does some after school some nights. So it's around £5 per hour I guess?
His mum is being a cock, and wants me to employ him properly, but if i'm honest I don't know how as he's not got a NI number.

My wee brother works on a farm at weekends looking after the farmers cocks and fondling his hens eggs. He's only 14 and it's all cash in hand. Tell his mum to fuck off she should be encouraging him not being a prick about it.

I know he's been doing it over a month, got something to do on a weekend and some school nights, yet shes being a cock about it.
Would much rather give him the work than a national delivery company, as he does well tbf, and marks off each house etc.

£30 quid to a 14 year old for a days work is decent, wish I'd got that instead of having to delivery 176 papers for a tenner.

If it was me I would tell the mum to go do one and find another boy to do it.
£30 to deliver some leaflets is pretty good IMO. plenty of kids would do it.

Aye, going to phone his mum later, and tell her to either stop being a cock or i'll get somebody else to do it. Hopefully she'll come round.

Yeah, its pretty good, but at the same time, it must be boring. He averages 800 per saturday / 1000 per week. So looking at it like that, its shite.

When I was 14 my old man used to get me to do CAD markups for him and pay me £4 an hour. Only when I was older did I realise what CAD draughtsman are paid. Cheap bastard.

tell her to fuck off
soon he'll have no more houses to deliver to and you can just sack him. if he is employed it would be harder

His Mum is being a cock? Surely it is in her intrest to have you pay him a few quid so she's not having to give him money.
Point out to her, she either lays off or you get someone else to deliver leaflets. Silly cow!!
