was ticking over at 3k and some times almost cutting out so I changed the idle control valve and it's the same if not worse, when starting in the morning the car will just cut out need to rev it till it's warm so the car can run... Sometimes it fine but it has a mind of it's own and does it when it wants  Car has also developed a splutter when I put my foot down in 1st mainly

similar simptoms to mine, except mine just splutters in first gear, and sometimes in second.

Did you clean out the egr valve, this can be a major cause of these sort of symptoms. A bit of a squeeze to get it out and back in, but it is well worth cleaning before you buy anything else.

sorted, the plug on the icv was fooked
