When the words on my dashboard computer say Service.
Edit; But mine was last done 1st Feb, and that was a FULL service. So hopefully same time next year.

10k miles
Servicing a Corsa twice in 6k miles is pointless.

No it isn't. Oil should ideally be kept fresh, if it has darkened then I would change it.
Just because something has a 12k mile service interval for oil changes doesn't mean it is the optimum point to do an oil change, FAR from it.

Agreed. Although as long as you change it at some point, then that is fine, not like a lot of the cars i see, Jeep with oil that you could confuse with jelly, and a fiesta with no oil at all.....

The reason it was done twice is because my oil breather pipe was loose and I wanted the system flushed wasnt too long after it had been done tbh

Most of my cars get an oil change every 5k ish and a full service every couple of oil changes, but my cars do get driven hard occasionally, especially with off roading in low box when it revs high etc but its personal preference.
Also an oil change costs less than £25 and takes about half hour to do it really isnt worth not doing.

Ah yes the classic dark oil 'rule' Im sorry i shouldn't laugh, its people like you that keep me in a job.
If it was some highly strung performance engine fair enough, but its a Corsa, its a mass produced underpowered engine designed to be driven by people that would never want to open the bonnet.

Errr mine was last done, when I got the car nearly two years ago, no wonder the lifters are tap dancing their way out.

When it tells me, but since i'm half way there and I have 2-3 litres of fresh oil left, I might do a half service and just take a few litres out and a few fresh litres in.

I do mine every December, and normally do no more than 5k miles inbetween each service.

Oil goes dark after about 5 miles, should I start changing my oil every day?

Once a year or 20,000 miles as per vauxhall recommendations.

Don't say that on AON, they think it's 'dangerous'.

Tell them 55,000 miles, not one bit of a niggle, starts every time and still pulls as hard as it new, suggests they could be wrong
Its what vauxhall recommends, and thats why they use long life (so called) oil.

The more I hear about this AON of late the more I want me and Steve to go on there and create mayhem.
That is Vauxhalls recommend service guide as you know.
Not many people do 20k a year, if you are the car will have done 100k in 5 years
I've done 3k since October in the Astra and 6k since 20th April 2009 in total and most VXR owners don't tend to use the car for spaceship mileage.
