Nice vid, loads of the videos on youtube are really poor quality. I am hopeless at jumping I really am, just dont have the confidence.

I did Walna Scar Road on Saturday, its epic. The climb is about 2 hours but its worth it cos its around 500m of fast rocky technical descent... you in to stuff like that?

I'm trying to psych myself up to attempt a trip up Skiddaw at some point too. 2745ft of climb which means 800m of descent

Yer I love tech rocky stuff, where's skiddaw at? I'd be up for that, let me know if you decide to go. Have you got any where near you that has jumps? It's just practice, if you do decide to try jumping drop your seat all the way down as it'll make it easier to control the bike in the air and for landing ;-)

Yeah there are a few places that have jumps. I tend to just skim over them maybe a couple of inches off the ground rather than really getting any proper air! Too scared

Skiddaw is near Keswick. Its one of the big buggers that you look out towards when you are climbing up Whinlatter.

great video mate. did anyone else kind of want him to fall off at some point? not that i have anything against you it's just cause it's on youtube so you expect it to involve some kind of accident!

also, no gloves = hardcore!

Ah right think I know the one you mean. Hamsterly forest has a few good climbs, but no where near as much as skiddaw's climb.

i don't like wearing gloves, i'll only wear them if it's cold, even then I end up taking them off.

I was thinking you were a bit hardcore not wearing gloves! Can just imagine coming off and taking all the skin off your hands

I'd love to try this. Do you have to pay to go on these trails, or are they just there?

Cant see them charging any time soon and if they do I prefer to ride the natural big passes and bridleways that are round here anyway. More challenging than the smooth man made trail centres. Although they are fun in their own way

No idea mate. My work are being funny about the scheme. They seem unwilling, but my Dad reckons he can get one easily through his place. So might just do that and sort him the money. Looking to spend about £500. Specialized seem to do some nice bikes.

You can spend up to a grand... may as well make use of the limit as you'll only end up getting the bug and buying a better one anyway if you dont

Nice vid,

My mate is trying to get me into downhill biking, wants me to go to France with him in July when he takes part in the Mega Avalanche race. We did a bit of XC'ing yesterday and I went on a pre-production Mtrax full sus with carbon frame
