Do they handle really well?

Many will say yes yes yes. They handle "quite" well, but then compared to a Clio they understear and are wobbly and no-where near as good.

So its the point of "whats a good handling car"?

Clio, yes, but that means the Corsa doesn't handle as well so is it a great handling car? No.

Fantastic handling car, anyone that says otherwise hasn't owned one. No where near as fanatic as the Astra, difference between Clio & Corsa on the road is nothing, you might notice it on the track but I doubt it.

Great handling car? Yes.

I'd say no... not on a track at least.

They may handle ok to most peoples needs (as standard).

I dont really think any standard car is great handling

my car is built on the same chassis as the Corsa and I noticed the other day that my shocks and springs have the same part number as the 1.6T SRi,

does the VXR have its own shocks then? if so I might keep a look out for some that come up cheap and use them with my eibachs

and another thing, why does no one make a ARB for them yet!

An ARB would make the back go lighter? thats one thing I find on mine, it turns in really quick and the rear can go quite light, it doesnt feel as dangerous as my saxo did, feels quite nice actualy I quite like it

I have them forge underbody braces on mine too, they made a noticable difference.

Im getting very fustrated with the lack of fiat tuning sites
Fiat owners are too busy worrying if they have to declare their magic tree on there insurance and bumming their main dealer

probably one of the best modern era hatches along with the clio etc. Still not as good as the 90's hot hatches though imo

Id say yes there are a good handling car. Quite poised and responsive and they hold the road well and give confidence to push the chassis to the limits as you know that the built in understeer will save your bacon if you dive in a little too hot.

Ive got a saxo VTS to run about in at the moment, and people rave on how good these 106 gtis etc are on the twisties and tbh mine just feels unsafe and twitchy. I could drive my corsa V6 faster with more confidence!

End of the day they are all transverse fwd hatches with torsion beam rear suspension. Only cars like Civic VTi's and honda ITR's have fully independant rear suspension and can claim to be the best handling fwd cars.

Oliver - i'm half agreeing with you.,

May appear to handle well to most folks needs... on a road where they are never really pushed.

BUT - if you take any standard car (bar things like GT3 RSs etc) on track or give it sustained abuse on back roads you will notice its shortcomings.

Brakes fade, too much body roll etc.

With OJC here, they do handle well. Test drive one. I did back to back corsa and astra, astra has shed loads more go, but corsa for corners was ace.
