When my grandad past away he left me and my dad his kit car, a Marlin Berlinetta. We've had the car for about 5 or 6 years but as my dad started his own kit car project the Marlin got put to one side. It hadn't been used in two years and we decided that it would be better to sell the car so that someone else could have some enjoyment from it rather than it sitting in the garden doing nothing. We sold the car to the owner of the Marlin owners club who had the intention of getting it back onto the road and back to its former self. The car was collected last night and towed on an A frame.

We had a call this morning to say he crashed on the way home When going onto a roundabout the wheels on our car didn't turn which caused it to jack knife and smash into the side of the tow car and spin out. I'm absolutely gutted! We don't know exactly how bad the damage is at the minute but from what we've been told it doesn't sound good at all.

The last photo I took of it on its way to its new home

And one I took of it with my dad

I'm praying it gets fixed. Makes me wish we never decided to sell it now!

When building kit car, if you use a certain amount of components from the donor car you can get an age related plate rather than a Q

Bad news but I'm sure it'll be fixable, I can't imagine they were travelling too fast.

If it's that new, it's probably been built using predominatly new parts, hence registered as a new vehicle.
