hello all im new hear! ive now been a corsa owner for 3 days and have already blown an engine! won this off the bay on wednesday http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220610371426&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_797wt_1139, been driving for the last few days and i have say its one of the best cars ive ever driven, its been set up to a very high standard and the engine really pulled hard until last night, i jumped in the car to drive home, went to turn the key a heard a loud banging/grinding noise. the conrod had burst through the block! now i dont know what to do, im thinking of just swapping the bottom end but the car was originally a redtop conversion so all the works been done and i think i need that extra power, what do think? cheers

hows it a redtop conversion originally if its been taken from 1.0 to 1.6 16v?

thats what ive been told as the car is on the log book as 2.0l! i dont know why this 1.6 lump has ended up being fitted, maybe the c20xe blew up and they had this lying around??

what im trying to say is shall i go ahead and repair this engine or shall i drop a c20xe in as i have one spare and the car has been modified to accept it? is their a fitting guide for redtop into a corsa c?

everything allready on the car needed for a 2.0 turbo engine , ie racing loom, to take bigger turbo engine???

it has kms loom and management. does anyone have any info on corsa c redtop conversion? cheers

Isn't the air filter on the wrong side? thought they come off to the left hand side of the bay?
