What do you guys think of superchips ?
I'm not talking about buying new here, so the hefty price tag isn't a problem.
Do they acutally make any difference with a filter and exhaust ?
Are there any downsides to them etc. ?
Cheers

You can do a LOT better than Superchips now. Superchips are not setup on rolling roads, so they are strictly designed for a standard car, since performance modifications are going to confuse it. Unichips by Dastek are pretty good.

superchips tend to work well on the C20xe engines if you have got a zorst system/air fitler. raising the rev limiter, pushing a bit more fuel in. If you get one cheap there good for a laff like.

The only thing they are good for is upping the rev limit. I've found out the hard way!

if your going to go for a chip you want a uni chip as you can re map your ecu to what ever you want and you can make all your performance parts work together in sweet harmony

iv got a superchip....had it fitted at the same time as my Velos torque tube....its raised my rev limit...can go faster in each gear...i think its worth it.
ppl slate them compared to say the unichip coz u cant control the fueling or timing...and also as said above ppl say its ment for a standard car...(no performance filters etc)...but the ecu should reset itself anyway...it should meassure how much air its pulling in etc
well thats wat iv heard
all i can say is that with a new inlet manifold its a good performance mod!

So general thoughts are that its not worth it then..
ATM in only have drilled airbox, k&n panel, and backbox. But I may do some other small mods in the future, nothing too mad like TB's or anything.
What are other reasonably cheap options for removing flatspots guys ?
Car has had full major service, injectors cleaned, k&n panel etc.
Thinking maybe get a new oxygen sensor ??
