I hope this means he will crack on with Hellboy III, he said he wouldn't make it until both Hobbit films had been made

It took me a few viewings before I started to like Hellboy, now I love it. I have the 3 disc Directors Cut

I'm not sure if PT will direct it, really he should, otherwise they might not have the same continuity as LOTR. Having said that, a Del Toro Hobbit would have been

As for Hellboy III, according to Wikipedia he has 3 other films to do before he even contemplates it. Ron Perlman will be dead by then

After watching The Baftas last night, I hope they hurry up and film Christopher Lee's parts.

Can't wait for the Hobbit, probably the book i've read the most!

Second Hellboy...meh, was ok, first is one of my favourite films ever.

I'm sure i'll enjoy the third, but yeah, Ron Perlman is an OAP already!

Christopher Lee looked incredibly old last night, was weird really, didn't think of him as THAT old really. Could tell how proud he was to of been given the award though, was really cool

Really? I mean, the first Hellboy was great, but also a bit thin and very linear.
The second is much deeper and bigger. It just feels like a much more epic tale. Seems like after the success of Hellboy and El Laberinto Del Fauno the production company gave del Torro more room to do what he wanted.
One of the greatest sequels ever made.

On topic, I have extremely mixed feelings about the Hobbit project.
I can't help but be alarmed that Peter Jackson ended up in the directors chair. If it was the perfect script to follow up one of the greatest movie trilogies of all time, I don't see how Guillermo del Torro could have ever let it slip through his fingers.
Also, it seems there has been put too much work in to shoe horning LoTR characters not originally in The Hobbit in to the story which leads me to believe that this movie is made for fans of the LoTR movie trilogi and not for fans of the J.R.R. Tolkien books.

First Hellboy is vastly superior to the second?!

I too am not liking Peter Jackson in the chair. They could have done so much better

Which ones?

There are loads of charactors in The Hobbit that appeared in LoTR.

Yes, I'm aware of the stories sharing character and places, however a few characters from LoTR have made their way in to The Hobbit.
Main ones are Frodo and Legolas, who were never mentioned in the book.
Frodo will most likely be part of the narrative, perhaps being told the story by Old Bilbo.
Legolas is just a crowd pleaser though.

(see the IMDB faq: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0903624/faq)

Also, apparently they have invented a female lead, Itaril, never mentioned in either book.
I'm guessing the production company didn't like the predominately male cast. Perhaps they'll do a "Thor" and have a black and an asian dwarf as well...
