I just got a pvd bfo cone off a relative for free. Not got round to fitting it yet as the weathers been awful, was just wondering how much of a change they make? does it make the drive feel different?

depends what engine aswell, Smaller engines 1.0 & 1.2 no point other than sound and a bit of heat soak. Bigger engines as long as you have a good cold air feed it can potentaily give you more bhp.

PVD Cone = PiperX rebranded.

It'll be fine. Expect more jerky throttle and probably increase fuel consumption. Power, maybe 1-2bhp, nothing noticable.

Will make a more responsive throttle though.
