Apparently, wearing one of these:
Improves your balance & aides performance
I don't buy it for one second but they do have a few famous people who use them - http://www.powerbalance.com/testimonials
Anyone care to explain how this is possible? Sounds more like a placebo effect to me

omfg...
quote: WHAT IS POWER BALANCE?
Power Balance is performance technology that uses holograms embedded with frequencies that react positively with your body’s natural energy field.
Balance • Strength • Flexibility
•HOW DOES IT WORK?
Most everything has a frequency inherent to it. Some frequencies react positively with your body and others negatively. When the hologram comes in contact with your body’s energy field, it allows your body to interact with the natural, beneficial frequency stored within the hologram. This results in improved energy flow throughout your body.
what a crock of...

Well they came to my attention through hockey, there's a few players that use them. I can see why you'd want improved balance when skating
Not sure how it effects any of the others though, Golf players always look pretty well planted to me

Yeah that makes sense.
Isn't balance all in your abs / core?
http://www.powerbalance.com/zinc-alloy.html $29 may be worth a punt?
Can't see it working - but for about £20 worth a shot i guess.

Just £30...
Don't health shops sell those copper bracelets too? Same thing?
I'm not after buying one but I'm just interested in what the theory behind it is

Copper bracelets are for athritis and conditions like that. And they don't work for anything other than the placebo effect.

they put it in his hand behind him. Watch the vid, it's really amateur - definitely not the company doing a fake vid.

Rubens looks like he has a sweat band on, looks nothing like the first pic of the bracelet.
How can anybody even consider that this might be genuine

They had a stand selling these at Modified Nationals this year and I had a look and a quick play with one, The test he did was to make me stand with both my arms out by my sides and then go onto one leg. Then he would push down my left arm and I would loose balance. Then we did the same again with the bracelet on my right wrist and he pushed my left arm and it didn't Throw me off balance at all
But as you say its probably all inside your head and plus the fact I had been Drinking all day and was Already Rocking before he even made me stand on one leg, so it would probably have even better results if your were concentrating.

Yeah total nonsense but that's their sweat band version, you can see the logo on it.
Cristiano Ronaldo supposedly has one too
... ultimately though, the Power Balance people are just v.clever with PR / marketing. They are signing up and posting on forums, giving reviews etc etc... Therefore you can find lots of 'good' testimonials on the net which make people buy them.
e.g. Most forum posts saying good things about them, are submitted by users who have only signed up to make that 1 post and never say anything again.
Similarly, reviews on amazon are by people who have only done one review.
Add in a few celeb endorsments and boom!
This cracked me up though...
...
cheeky bastards.

"I put a Power Balance band on my penis and conducted my own test. The results were staggering. Not only did I achieve a twice than normal erection size, but I could also make love standing on one foot with my arms stretched out! Previously I had always fallen over! Similarly when masturbating while standing on one foot with both arms stretched out I found it most difficult to climax. Now with the Power Balance band wedged in my backside, I have no trouble at all. It works."
