just turned 190,000miles on the corrado, just ordered the oil filter and new spark plugs, didn't even come to £30

i have aimed to reach 200,000miles with original engine and not far off now, not even changed the timing chain or tensioners yet

Thats something people never understand with older/higher mileage cars. My calibras engine was sweet as a nut at 65k, never let me down in the 15k i did. However basicly ALL the suspension crumbled, all bushes went, fueling disintegrated and bits fell off and the aircon went funny and it leaked

Engine is least worrying thing on a high milleage/older car tbh. Its the other bits that can be costly and require alot of work/money to replace.

I think I have told this story on here before but Il repeat myself anyway.

A mate of mine used to work in a garage and every year this really old guy would bring his car in for its MOT and every year it needed a new clutch, best thing was he only did 700-800 miles a year

id have thought you'd change the chain and tensioner when the clutch was done? They reckon its just as easy to get it all done in one hit
