From cold my redtops really 'tappy'.. When it warm it's fine, why is this? And is there anything I can do to stop it?

its just the way they are with the lifters. replace them but more than likely will still do it.

Its just how they are. Like timing chain rattle from a 1.0 & 1.2 ecotec

its a thing they do when cold on a higher mileage c20xe but replacing them does get rid of that noise. but u do have to drop cams out to get to them. worthwhile if good on the spanners.

might be no good to you but the xe i fitted in my corsa hadnt been ran for a 8 months and when i started it it was tapping, i used a forte advanced engine flush and then a forte head treatment and mines is silent

suppose mine is quiet although maybe cant tell from the awful booming noise of the exhaust

A lot of people say change the oil regularly too.

Mine only did it when it was really cold weather - is fine atm even straight after turning the key.

are they hydraulic followers? isnt it something to do with the worn pistons not filling up as well when the oils not up to temp?
