Been seeing a lot of cars with their lights on all day, in brilliant sunshine, any reason for this?

This was round Mickleover, a little village in Derby.

I was thinking it was auto lights, but still didn't really seem to make sense.

Wtf are Daytime lights for?

Same. Car put its light on at 6pm when I drove out of the sunshine and into a forest on the way home. Turned them off when I drove out the other side.

yea i do it as it increases the likelihood that the huge number of blind retards on the road will see you before pulling out in front of you.

Same theory as a motorcyclist.

I find it makes a huge difference.

I've seen a few people with their dipped beam headlights and front fog lights on in the middle of the day in summer before, I mean what's the point? I can understand having lights on to be seen by all the blind idiots, but fog lights too is going a bit far imo.

I think new cars have day time driving lights, but you can still switch them off.

Nearly every new BMW, Audi, VW, Porsche, Vauxhall have the daytime running lights or LED's. Tad annoying.

In pretty much all Scandinavia its a requirement to have DRL (or lights on during the day if driving a car from outside Scandinavia) due to the dark days during the winter months.
