Spoke to Flux this morning and they said i could insure a 1.4 16v corsa b for an extra £9 a month so i might buy a X14XE and give it a good going over and install that. My question is.
What bits would i need. im led to beleive i need engine(obviously)|, gearbox?, loom, shafts?
Would the engine mounts for a 1.2 8v be ok?
what are they like mod wise? easy to toy with?

It would be easier to just buy a clean 1.4/1.6 sport.
To answer the question though -
ECU, Loom, Keychips & Transponder
Engine, Box, Shafts, Brakes.
Mounts i cant comment on as i dont know what 1.2 8v ones look like.

If you want to do a project its hardly worth converting a 1.2 to a 1.4.

Yeah and someone who has been on the receiving end of a £100k claim, yes me, will tell you it is a fucking stupid idea.
I was all declared.
P.S. As above, either don't bother or buy a mint 1.4.

How much more would it be for a 1600 because that would be the better engine to mod, but if you mod the 1400 get a 4 branch cat back performance inlet, set of fast road cams + verniers have it all set up properly with a map, and you'll be a lot happier with it compaired to your 1.2

i've got a good x14xe for sale, with loom, gearbox... Well the whole lot you'd need to convert as its in my gls thats for sale, so you can have the whole car with the cf parts and alloys and powerbox for £300

Did they say you could insure a 1.4 Corsa for £9 extra or your car with a new engine for £9 extra? They are not the same thing.
Don't quote me on this, but I think the mounts are quite different between 8v and 16v's. Davey LC posted some pics up once of the two bays but I can't remember what threads they were in.

its an extra £9 for an X14XE, watch that £9 turn into £00`s when you start to add the mods
and yeah the 8v mounts are different, you have the most arkward car to do the conversion on too, be better converting a 12v than your 8v
