I've only bloody cleaned my car

For those that don't know me, car cleaning by me is generally done only in the lead up to a show, if I have the time/inclination

I think the sun must be getting to me, I was feeling slightly bored earlier on and it seemed like a good idea

So using only the finest car cleaning products I could find in the shed and using only the cleanest of the various dirty cloths and sponges that were lying about, I set about tackling the job in hand.

Luckily I was fortunate enough to have had my car cleaned for me 2 weeks back by a very generous Scottish woman, which meant it wasn't in it's usual 'shit-high' condition which made for a much easier job

So anyway, some very rare clean photos

I told you! I told you that you would end up cleaning it again yourself! Wont be long before you spend all your time at Tesco jet wash with a pocket full of pounds and a shammy (sp) Looks so much better when its clean though Mike.

I wouldn't go that far mate

I only did it to get some wax on it really, thought that way it'll hopefully keep it cleaner for a bit longer. It's proved how knackered my bonnet is tho, when I cleared the wax off it you could see the pattern from where I applied the wax

Dont let this clean car thing slip now. It best be polished and sparkling for Llandudno. Im going to try and make it.

Have you looked for a spare bonnet or are you not bothered at the moment?

Not that bothered really, I have been offered one but we'll see what happens, it might have been forgotten about now but I'm in no rush to get one. You know what I'm like, I'm not big on attention to detail

You'll be lucky for it to be clean for Llandudno, I've gotta drive to Glasgow on Wednesday, plus all the usual driving I do and I can't see me being motivated to wash it 2 weeks on the run, I never even did that when I used to like washing it, ie. before I stoved it into the side of a van

Get it done. Get on a massive touch up and refurb session whilst its nice weather. Just spend a bit of time doing all the little jobs youve always wanted to do on it. Then you will have a reason to keep it polished rather than forgetting about it in a month Did you fit those brakes? I forgot to ask you at PVS

Don't be pushing me to get into getting it mint again, that's what killed my motivation in the first place. After crashing it I was driving round with a bent bonnet for months so I knew if I attempted to clean it, I'd see that and lose motivation so I ended up taking it through the local IMO a couple of times which absolutely butchered the paintwork. Once it was all fixed again and it was coming upto PVS '08 I decided to try and do something with the paint to get it looking black again. After polishing it on 4 different occasions and seeing no visible difference I gave up and it's generally been dirty since just to cover up the grey, faded, swirl marked paint

Oh and yes, I think I fitted the brakes the following weekend, cheers very much, they're boss

No problem on the brakes mate

What exactly killed your motivation? The fact you spent ages on it but it still wasnt how you wanted it?

If you want you can bring your car to mine and leave it with me for a day i'll get it looking like new and then you can have it back. Free of charge of course. I'll sort out the bonnet, paint and anything else.

It was that I spent ages on it and it looked exactly the same, I must've spent at least about 8 hours on polishing it across about 4 weekends and I'd have got the same results from sitting on my arse.

I s'pose it would probably be good having it back to it's old form again but I can't ask you to do it for nothing.
