are you allowed to wear rigger boots on most sites these days? i keep hearing rumours about them being banned but i haven't had it confirmed yet.

Their not allowed offshore as far as I know, were allowed them in the yard though and id mostly use them at home on the farm.
I find the lace / zip up black leather ones fare too warm and tight in summer

i used to wear them at college and when i first worked on site and i much preferred them. i get my boots for free from the place i work now though so i just choose from a list of boots and there are no riggers on there. it does my head in when health and saftey start moaning about what you can and can't wear. you should be able to wear whatever the fuck you want as long as it has a steel toe cap.

banned offshore for years, and in most sites (i used to be a plumber, and i work offshore now)
no ankle protection, but jallettes are sooooo comfortable, i had a pair for 2 years or so, and left them in singapore last september as they were well and truely fuked

u tried dickies rigger boots, i swore by jal's but got given a pair of dickes and there much more comfy and dont need breaking in. only a suggestion tho

Ditto, why are Riggers banned from sites? We have lads who where 'em on loads o fsites and no-ones ever said anything. Not even BAM sites and they are shit hot on that sort of thing..
