Replaced wittttthhhh

Another bloody astra

So, going from a VXR, to a 1.6 SXi, woooop. Looking forward to 120+bhp less, no nice dials, no colour screen, no bucket seats, no nice paint, no big alloys or strong (ish) brakes....

Still, 2 months, only 2 months.........

So Donnas bringing home the SXi Astra tonight, taking the VXR astra to work tomorrow, and being brought home by her younger brother in, yup you guessed it, another bloody astra (1.9 CDTi)......

can't escape the bloody vauxhalls Still, a positive is that i bet it goes ok on fuel, and won't have to clean any cars for another 2 months

spec and colour of the s3

My mate has a 07 one and just had it mapped - its very very quick now (approx 305BHP)

Thinks its sprint blue they call it - only thing that lets it down is the wheels

I bet the 1.6 has worse mpg than the vxr when both are being driven normally.

Its white, brand new, full leather, sat nav, 18"s (new style), comfort pack, lighting pack, errrr, probably some fancy toys.

Didn't go for the black edition, deal was already signed.

I had a hire car 1.6 16v astra a few months ago. Ragged the hell out of it and still saw 400 miles to the tank VXR gets 300 if its lucky.

shame I can't take the VXR out for one final hardcore blast, but meh, not worth the hassle it could cause. So the last time I drove it in anger would have been a good month ago Mind you, even then I didn't exactly drive it hard

I'll miss it, its been a great little fun car to drive. S3 won't be anywhere near as involving to drive, but it'll go over speed bumps better i'll bet

Great choice - Black edition would have been nice with bose and tints

They have a very harsh ride however and my mate finds it very heavy on fuel

He doesnt do alot of long drives but struggles to get over 23mpg

tbh, I find the astras ride really stiff on the road, the audi did feel a little softer, but we'll see.

Its got the 265bhp unit it in, so expecting it to be worse than the astra, and thats about 5mpg less that we had, but Donna does a good chunk of motorway miles sitting at legal limits, so it'll be interesting to see how much more it uses.

Deffo an upgrade from the astra, whether its outright better yet, we'll find out in a few months time.

I was suprised at the exhaust note as standard, lot deeper rumble instead of the VXR's cat hiss And the turbos louder as well.

Oooo interesting, i'll have to google that. tbh though, if it fails, it goes back and they can sort it. The good parts of a new car

Oct seems so far away, by then it'll be coming into winter. JUST the time to get a new car. Still, with its 4wd, it'll go through the snow though, possibly
